OUR HISTORY
The long line of accountants in the Visse family started with Harry Visse in 1933. His two sons both went into the accounting field and his oldest son, Hy Visse, started Visse & Company, CPAs in Bellevue in 1982 after many years of public accounting in the Northwest.
Hy retired from the firm in 2004 to spend more time enjoying family, traveling, boating, and riding his motorcycle. Mike is now keeping the family tradition of public accounting alive and continues to grow the company with a focus on high ethical standards, approachability, kindness and diligence—traits he learned from his father and grandfather.

Michael Visse
Owner, Certified Public Accountant
Mike earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting and a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Central Washington University in 1987. He began his accounting career working on retirement plan trust accounts, and developed a niche in retirement planning and consulting. He spent a number of years with a regional CPA firm in their Portland office before moving back to the Puget Sound area in 1997 to join his father, Hy, in the family business at Visse & Company. Mike took over the helm in 2003 as Hy transitioned into retirement. Mike enjoys getting to know and advising his diverse client base. Active in the community, Mike is a member and board treasurer of the Rotary Club of Woodinville and serves as treasurer for a private charitable foundation. He enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, skiing, cycling, and summer weekends at the lake with good friends and great wine.
Mark Esser
Certified Public Accountant
Mark graduated from the University of Washington with a bachelor's in accounting and passed the CPA exam in 1979. He started with a regional CPA firm that became international. In 1985, he lived and practiced in Milwaukee while his wife completed her medical residency in family practice. Mark joined Visse & Company in 1989 to focus his practice on individual, small business and estate tax preparation and tax planning. Mark enjoys hiking, fishing, and attending local sporting events with family.
Lauren Sing
Certified Public Accountant
Lauren hails from South Africa. She earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Rhodes University in Grahamstown, South Africa and an honorary accounting degree while working as a clerk for Deloitte. She practiced in South Africa for a medium-sized auditing firm before emigrating to the United States in 1998. Lauren joined Visse & Company in 1998, and passed the CPA exam in the United States in 2000. She enjoys getting to know clients on a more intimate level than is possible at a larger firm. Lauren is happily married with three children. She enjoys volunteering at her church, babies (especially other people's), knitting, crocheting, and sewing.
Nariman El Hawary
Accountant
Nary moved to the United States from Egypt where she earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Cairo University. Nary lives in Bothell with her husband and kids. She enjoys spending summers with her kids and traveling with family to Egypt.
