  • Any of your teachers can reset your account by following these steps:

    1. Using Chrome as your browser, open the Google Password Reset Tool extension in your browser
    2. If you don’t see the extension, click the Extensions puzzle piece
    3. If you still don’t see the extension, make sure that you’re logged into Chrome with your CMS account and that Sync is on.
    4. Enter the student’s ID number and your 5-digit CMS ID number
    5. Follow the prompts to reset the student’s password to their 8-digit birthday (YYYYMMDD)

    If your teacher is unable to reset your password, go to palisades.link/help to turn in a technology help ticket.

  • Try resetting your password by clicking the Password Reset button and following the prompts. If you are unsuccessful, any of your teachers can reset your account by following these steps (must be logged into a teacher account):

    1. Go NCEdCloud Homepage
    2. Click the dropdown arrow at the top (next to Applications), and select People
    3. Select My Students
    4. Select the student and click Change Password at the bottom of the page.
    5. Follow the prompts to reset to the default password.
    6. Share password with student

    1. Go to palisades.link/studentsquare to log in to your account

    2. Sign up with your Student ID number and either:

      1. your cell phone number, or
      2. your personal email address

      NOTE: You can’t use your school email address

    3. Download the iOS or Android app to follow along with your classes, clubs, and teachers.

    1. Go to office.com and select Sign In

    2. Your username is: ########@cms.k12.nc.us (where ######## is your student ID number)

      NOTE: This isn’t your email address; there is NO student in this username

    3. Click Next and then "Sign in with your work or school account”

    4. Retype your username if necessary and use your standard CMS password that is used for the CMS computer logon. Click the "Sign In" button.

    5. You are now logged in to Office 365, which provides online access to Microsoft apps and the ability to download and install Microsoft Office software

    1. Go to Google.com and then click on Sign In

    2. Sign in to Google using the following credentials:

      Username: <studentID>@student.cms.k12.nc.us (for example, if your ID is 1234567890, then you would type in 1234567890@student.cms.k12.nc.us)

      Password:

      For your first login, the password is your birthday in YYYYMMDD format (for example, if your birthday was January 2, 2003 then the birthday is 20030102)

    1. Go to palisades.link/studentsquare to log in to your account

    2. Sign up with your Student ID number and either:

  • You will need your student ID number. Please look on your schedule for your ID number

    Do not claim your account if you attended any other NC district. Your account will transfer over to CMS once your old district has released your student records to CMS.

    1. Go to my.ncedcloud.org

    2. Click on "Claim my account"

    3. Choose "LEA Student Claim Policy" on the next page.

    4. On the following screen, the following items must be filled in:

    Student UID: Student ID number

    Grade level: Student grade level as of the current school year

    Birthdate: Student birthdate in YYYYMMDD format

    LEA/Charter Code: For CMS, this is 600

    5. Then click "I'm not a robot".

    6. Complete the security questions that will help you in case of a password reset.

    If you are unable to access your account, go to palisades.link/help to turn in a technology help ticket.

    1. Go to office.com and select Sign In

  • Please contact Palisades Student Services for instructions on how to transfer the account to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. The previous district must release you from their records for your NCEdCloud account to transfer over.

  • If you already have an NCEdCloud account you cannot claim it again. Please login with your last known ID and password. If your password doesn't work, click on the "Password Reset" button to try a password reset.

    If you were just recently enrolled from out-of-state to CMS, it takes a bit for the systems to update. Try to claim the account again tomorrow.
